A High Fidelity PCR Enzyme for Long Range PCR: LA Taq DNA Polymerase
Takara LA Taq combines Taq DNA Polymerase and a DNA proofreading polymerase with 3’ to 5’ exonuclease activity that is optimized for PCR amplification of very long DNA templates (long range PCR). This mixture of enzymes allows for long and accurate (LA) PCR amplification of targets from a variety of templates, including genomic DNA. The presence of the proofreading polymerase significantly increases fidelity (6.5X) as compared to Taq polymerase alone. Using the Takara LA Taq long PCR system, routine extension of 20 kb is possible, and products up to 48 kb can be obtained for some templates.
