Sequence microbes to understand evolution
Being able to generate my own libraries and submit them as a single pool without having to pay for individual sample QC (just 1 qc for the pool i create), let us go from sequencing dozens of samples to 100s of samples and still save $1,000s compared to on campus facilities. That we get the results back faster than we do for on campus work is just icing on the cake.

Illumina amplicon sequencing: affordable, high quality output, great customer service
Illumina based (MiSeq) amplicon sequencing of microbial marker gene (ITS)
Psomagen provided high quality and guaranteed output of Illumina MiSeq sequences. Since the primer and amplicon setup was a bit different from 'standard' 16S rRNA sequencing I had a few questions and their sale and technical teams were very prompt and adept in answering my questions. Submitting the samples and receiving the data back was smooth. Pricing was very competitive and cheaper than other sequencing providers (mostly academic sequencing core facilities) that I considered. I would definitively use their service again and am lining up my next amplicon library to do so.
