Analysis of optically active compounds
Lux Chiral columns are for HPLC and SFC, and are a wonderful product from Phenomenex. Many different enantioselective phases (Chiral stationary phases) with good selectivity are available and hence efficient chiral separation is an attractive feature and one of the best reasons to choose this brand. Almost 100% of chiral screening is successful in one or other chiral stationary phases. These columns separate enantiomers and stereoisomers as well. Very rough use is possible as the stationary phase is stable in almost any solvent. It is just a gift for any analyst because one can use these columns in both phases, reverse phase as well as for normal phase with a proper switch over procedure. This is possible only due to the special coating of base silica which makes the chiral stationary phase stable at any pH. Even though frequently used in both (reverse and normal) phases, these columns give the best performance for a long time if handled and maintained systematically. This is my own experience. Another factor is a very competitive 'price' for which every purchaser is always looking. Lux Chiral columns are the best performing product at a much more reasonable cost (almost 40-45% less than other brands of chiral columns). Really a 'must buy' product for analyst working on chiral compound separations.

I would not recommend the Amylase chiral column Lux for Isomer separation. Phenomenex is a great company and I was surprised this product did not perform

This product left much to desire. it did not perform as expected and did not provide the separation we had been promised or anticipated
