We did not know about zymo products until we saw it in papers more and more often. We decided to purchase it with a grant we had. It is a little expensive but it is worth it. Super fast extraction, great results. We did several extractions from the same sample (in Shield) and the results were always the same. Excellent product.

I have used the Quick-RNA™ Viral Kit to obtain samples of different viruses for three different techniques: RT-qPCR, conventional PCR, and sequencing. The kit is absolutely easy to use. Using the DNA/RNA Shield brings the user the advantage of transport and storage at room temperatures. In addition, the virus inactivation using this Shield allows you to work with BSL-3 pathogens in BSL-1 laboratories, which is easier to work in. The quality of the samples was satisfactory for all purposes and the lab team was able to publish a paper and submit a complete genome sequencing of a virus isolate.

I have used multiple kits for viral RNA isolation. This kit has been the easiest to use and reliably recovers a good amount of RNA with high purity. For downstream use in RT-PCR, this kit is great.

Excellent performance. The kit has all the necessary reagents and with extended expiry date. You can open and leave at room temperature. The results and RNA quality is excellent for COVID diagnosis purposes by RT PCR. The price is very convenient and economic compared to other brands on the market.

The QUICK RNA Viral 96 Kit assist with high volume testing in our COVID-19 Test kit. It is a durable and dependable kit that allows for high throughput of our lab. When there has been an issue, ZYMO Research has been quick to respond with helpful information to prevent a slow down or stoppage of the work. We also purchase the Quick-RNA Fungal/Bacterial MicroPrep Kit (R2010) for our COVID-19 Wastewater surveillance testing. This kit has also been a durable and dependable kit that allows for high throughput of our lab. Both kits have been readily available for order which has been amazing. We have experienced supply issues with other extraction kit vendors which have caused issues in our labs. With Zymo's reliability, they have become our number 1 vendor when in need of extraction kits or other potential reagents/consumables.
