Microbiome
Used this kit to extract DNA from several hundred low biomass microbiome samples. It worked much better than I expected. My success rate was high.

Works overall, needs improvement on the filtration materials.
DNA extraction
The kit works well for high-throughput workflows. One of the issues we have is that the filter plate quality is not the greatest as the filter becomes loose and falls out of the well during centrifugation. This causes us to lose the DNA material and cause us to repeat the process for those samples.

The ZymoBIOMICS lysis system eliminates bias associated with unequal lysis efficiencies of different organisms (e.g. Gram-negative/positive bacteria, fungus, protozoans, and algae), making it ideal for microbial community profiling.
