Great product that saves the lab time and money
Gene therapy vector construction
On average, we were able to get about 3x the DNA compared to Qiagen Giga kits. After the endotoxin issues were worked out of the early product line, this product has proven itself to our satisfaction. We are also able to prepare our plasmid DNA in about half the time.

Fast, reliable, high yield.
Plasmid production for transfection purposes
Very high yield of DNA is achieved, even for big/difficult constructs. I really appreciated that the protocol is fast (especially the fact that there's no isopropanol precipitation at the end), reliable and easy. I like the idea of the coloured buffers.

DNA purification.
The steps were easy to follow. It requires more than the ZymoPURE™ Maxiprep Kits in terms of buffer and centrifuge use. This Gigaprep Kit however, yielded far less than what Zymo Research claims. I get better yields with the ZymoPURE™ Maxiprep Kits.

ZymoPURE™ Plasmid Isolation kits provide the fastest and simplest method available to efficiently isolate transfection quality plasmid DNA from E. coli. TheZymoPURE™Plasmid Gigaprepkit features a spin column-based method for the purification of up to 10 mg of high-quality plasmid DNA in less than 50 minutes. The eluted plasmid DNA is ready for immediate use, avoiding the need for subsequent precipitation steps.
ZymoPURE™ technology uses a modified alkaline lysis method and features novel binding chemistry that yields highly concentrated plasmid DNA (up to 3 µg/µl) directly from a spin column. The wash regimen has been optimized to ensure the plasmid DNA is free of endotoxins, salt, protein, and RNA resulting in plasmid DNA suitable for sensitive applications including transfection, plasmid-mediated gene silencing, cloning, and sequencing.
As an added convenience, the ZymoPURE™ Plasmid Gigaprep contains colored buffers that permit error-free visualization and identification of complete bacterial cell lysis and neutralization. Also, bottle top filters are included for rapid clearing of the lysate.
